Connect with your local wine community or create your own events.
The world of wine has so many different facets that a lifetime can be fulfilled in pursuit of a Taste of the Grape.
Besides the delight of drinking wine in the privacy of one's own home, there are many mroe social wine events.
There are tastings, and auctions, wine tours and lectures.
It is not too surpirsing that their are wine festivals in locations such as Napa Valley, but don't be surprised to
discover a festival near to you. Wine grapes are grown all over the country. You can find wineries, not just
in Oregon, California, and New York, but in
Michigan, Colorado, North Carolina, Oklahoma and so on.
Some of these local wines do get national and international distribution. But many vintages will stay local,
thrilling or enchanting those who seek them out. That is one of the great reasons for attending a local wine
event. You never know what local treasure you will encounter.
Many wineries host themed parties throughout the year. Look for such events to be advertised in
your community newspaper or online at the wineries website.
No Local Wine Events?
If there are not community wine events for you to attend, create one of your own. This can be as simple as
having a wine tasting party in your home. Or set-up a wine tastin and wine auction event with your local
charity!
Many larger wine and liquor stores have regular wine tasting days, schedule a lunch and wine tasting
date with some of your friends to cooordinate with what is going on at your local wine store.
Another way to celebrate wine, is to take the family to local vineyard and explore the world of
grape growing.
And last, but not least, treat yourself to a special bottle of wine and make that a local event...
