Scroll down for the latest news on BMW Vehicles BMW Hybrid Car:German Engineering Brilliance and Elegance Teamed with Revolutionary Hybrid TechnologyKnown for the many innovations and excellent qualities BMW has contributed to the automotive world, we can be sure that this hybrid will be another transportation engineering breakthrough that could set the par other manufacturers will follow. BMW said that their Hybrid car would run on both Hydrogen and petroleum! And the 7 series BMW would be the first line to be infused with this cutting edge technology. Already, BMW has some of these cars being test driven in different countries. Researchers and engineers are staging tests and are getting feedback as they work to perfect their first hybrid car release. BMW doesn’t want to release just a beautiful looking car, they want one that will be a true friend to the environment as well as performing beautifully. Deviating from the usual battery/electric motor combination used by other hybrid car manufacturers, BMW has decided on using hydrogen-fuel combined with an internal gas combustion engine. This controversial path has led to detailed research and development focusing on the need to keep the hydrogen in liquid form. This poses as a real problem, f the engine becomes too hot, the hydrogen may evaporate, requiring frequent fill ups. A similar quandary that must be overcome is keeping the hydrogen from evaporating while in transit to the engine. But BMW has said that it has found the solution to this problem. BMW sees a vehicle that run on hydrogen only as their ultimate goal. But it would take about two more decades before a car can actually be powered by hydrogen alone. But they are positive that this is very achievable. BMW claims that for the past thirty years, they have been developing technology that could lead to the first viable pure hydrogen vehicle. They expect this future car to be fueled with hydrogen produced at solar power plants. Hydrogen is produced by electrically splitting water molecules into its component atoms - hydrogen and oxygen. And when that hydrogen is burned in a car engine, water is reporduced which escapes from the tailpipe. BMW has been focusing on Hydrogen as the primary power source for cars because BMW believes it is the best solution to the ever-worsening problems caused by vehicular emmissions. Carbon dioxide and ozone are just some of the gases coming from cars that contribute to environmental pollution and global warming. But burning hydrogen fuel doesn’t have dangerous emissions, only water vapor, which poses no harm to the atmosphere. Additionally, hydrogen is a recyclable fuel and doesn’t deplete natural resources. This is BMW's dream: Power vehicles with hydrogen produced from water with electricity made through the use of solar energy. And this dream has a basis in reality as shown by the advancement in technology as evident with the BMW 750hl production car showcased at the Expo 2000. Today, together with some of its partners, BMW maybe behind in the mass production of Hybrid Cars, but they are the forefront of Hybrid technology. Soon, we will all be the beneficiaries of BMW's hybrid car research as they explore new developments and innovations. Not only will we save on gas money, we will also be saving the environment. And you can be certain that owning a BMW Hybrid car won't have you riding in a cramped car with low engine power. With the unveiling of the BMW hybrid car in the near future, you will get sophistication, power, elegance and style while helping to clean up the air.
