Scroll down for the latest news on hybrid vehicles Discover the 2007 Hybrid Car LineupOne of the newest in the batch of the 2007 hybrid car lineup is the 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid Toyota now has three Hybrid models to choose from. The Camry hybrid couples the performance of a topnotch six-cylinder engine with the fuel economy of a four-cylinder engine. Although it is not as fuel efficient as the first Toyota hybrid, the Prius, the Camry hybrid is a substantial improvement, mileage-wise, over the regular Camry. Mpg for the Hybrid Camry is 40 for the city. $26,200 MSRP*. Never far behind its Japanese rival, giant car manufacturer Honda, has the Hybrid Accord and the Hybrid Civic. These two sedans offer what Hybrids are known for, fewer emissions from the tailpipe and less fuel consumption.
Don't forget the 2007 Civic Hybrid which continuous to provide the true essence of hybrid technology. With 49 mpg city / 51 mpg hwy and a MSRP*: $22,600, This car is geared towards the economy minded. Both the Hybrid Civic and the Honda Accord Hybrid have earned an Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) rating. What this means is that you not only drive from point A to point B with less gas usage, but you also do not burden the environment futher by not adding more air pollutants to the atmosphere. That AT-PZEV rating means a lot. According to the California Air Resources Board (CARB), PZEV vehicles have near-zero evaporative emissions and their emission-control equipment has a 15-year/150,000 mile warranty. Joining the Hybrid car race in 2007 is General Motors second Hybrid vehicle, the 2007 Aura Hybrid XR sedan from Saturn. Saturn is already producing the Saturn Vue a hybrid SUV. The Aura will be competing with other high-end hybrid cars such as the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Honda Accord Hybrid. Sporting a 252-hp, 3.6L V-6 engine as well, the Aura Green Line is dedicated to providing utmost engine power with minimal gas consumption. GM's engineers claim that it will generate a 20 percent savings in fuel economy over its conventional model. Mpg: 20 city and 28 highway. Luxury-wise, the 2007 Auru Hybrid XR features powered adjusted pedals and a powered four-panel Panoramic roof. And, of course, many other features. MSRP* $24,595. Nissan has stated that a 2007 Altima Hybrid will be offered. Test drives are being offered and the motoring world is getting glimpses of its development vehicle. Instead of creating its own Hybrid technology, Nissan, in a deal inked with Toyota, will be utilyzing Toyota's Hybrid engineering in its Hybrid projects over the next five years. Note that the license from Toyota restricts Nissan to building 50,000 hybrid units a year. MSRP* is predicted to be around $25,000. Fuel usage is estimated at 41 mpg city, 36 mpg highway. Rumored to be unveiling its first hybrid model, Volkswagen is said to be preparing a full-hybrid car with its Chinese partner for 2007-2008, but it hasn’t disclosed yet which car model they will be infusing the technology. Latest rumors suggests that it would be on the Jetta for the upscale engine level or the Passat for the four-cylinder class. You may want to check out Volkswagon's clean-burning deisel car. That car is the Lupo, a small four passenger car that uses a high-technology ultra-clean burning diesel engine and gets 90 MPG. This is only the beginning for new hybrid car models. More and more vehicle manufacturers are understanding the potential of Hybrid vehicles. I predict, that shortly in the future, every car produced will be infused with the Hybrid technology. And as oil prices continue to soar and concerns for the environment are realized, we can certain that these vehicles will be welcomed with open arms and pocketbooks. *Any MSRP prices shown in this article are for comparison purposes only, actual costs will vary with region, specific models, accesories and other factors.
