Organic apples are apples that are certified to be grown without chemical pesticides and fertilizers. They are grown in soil that is more fertile and bio-active. They taste better and have greater nutritional content. And you do not have to worry about the toxins that come with non-organically grown apples.

There is a good chance your local grocery store has begun to offer organic apples. If they don't, ask for them, and in the meantime. check out your local health food or whole food market. Farmer's markets often have organic produce as well. The nice thing about buying organic produce, is it is usually grown closer to where you live. Buying organic tends to help the local economy!

Sometimes apples and other organic fruit will show minor blemishes on the skin. That's okay. This just means that your apple was NOT sprayed 10 or more times during the growing season with toxic chemical pesticides and fertilizers. You are seeing fruit as nature makes it, not as man has distorted it.

When you cook with organic ingredients, you are cooking the way our ancestors did. You are using foods that are filled with nutrients and life. So start making your apple dishes with organic apples.
